How can counselling help me?
What is counselling?
Counselling is a type of talking therapy where you speak with a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. You will receive from myself:

1. A Safe Space: a confidential environment where you can openly discuss your issues and experiences without fear of judgement.
2. Listening and Support: My role is to listen and help you understand your emotions and thoughts better.
3. Finding your own Solutions: I won't give you advice or tell you what to do, instead I will help you find your own solutions to problems.
Why should I speak to a counsellor?
People come to counselling for many reasons. Sometimes, you need more than the support of family and friends to help resolve your difficulties. This is a good time to seek professional help from a qualified counsellor.

-
You could be feeling depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, hopeless and unhappy.
-
You might be experiencing relationship difficulties or struggling to make or sustain an intimate relationship with another person.
-
You may have experienced a trauma, lost a loved one and are grieving.
-
You might be feeling very sad or uncontrollably angry, but do not know why.
-
Maybe you feel hopeless and that life is not worth living, or have no direction in life and feel lost.
-
You may feel that your problems originate from childhood experiences or be linked to your current situation.
-
You might want help with a particular problem like an eating issue, chronic illness, panic attacks, or you may not know what is wrong or why you feel the way you do.
What benefits will I receive from counselling?

How do I find a qualified counsellor?
Finding a suitable and qualified counsellor in the UK is easier than ever with the help of online resources. Websites such as the BACP Therapist directory and Counselling Directory allow you to search for professionals based on your specific needs and location. You can read client reviews and check their credentials, comfortable in the knowledge that therapists have had to prove their qualifications and experience in order to be verified and appear on the directory. Take advantage of these tools to find the right support for your journey.
